The famous eponymous debut album The Stone Roses by Manchester’s biggest export was produced by John Leckie of Pink Floyd’s Meddle. Released in 1989 and followed up the next year by their notorious Spike Island gig, this album put them at the forefront of a new rave aesthetic as much as it did a musical style. Featuring characteristically egocentric singles like ‘I Wanna Be Adored’, it helped set the tone for rock through the 90’s and beyond – and whether or not its the best British album ever made, it’s certainly iconic.
- I Wanna Be Adored
- She Bangs The Drums
- Don’t Stop
- Bye Bye Badman
- Elizabeth My Dear
- (Song For My) Sugar Spun Sister
- Made Of Stone
- Shoot You down
- This Is The One
- I Am The Resurrection
