Canned Tunes Presents: NOISE EATER #2 – a ‘food-for-entry’ charity gig project in aid of Watford Food Bank on Saturday 31st March at The LP Cafe, Watford.
Described as “A truly innovative way of linking killer live bands with a practical solution of frontline charity” ‘Canned Tunes Presents: NOISE EATER’ operates a simple concept of ‘food-for-entry’.
For this gig we encourage everyone to bring at least 2 canned food donations to gain entry, all of which will be donated to Watford Food Bank.
Our last Canned Tunes event was fully endorsed by the Brighton and Hove Green Party, describing it as “A brilliant example of some of the imaginative, artistic ways people and groups are supporting foodbanks across the city. It’s fantastic to see a merger of Brighton & Hove’s passion to help the most vulnerable in our city and our vibrant, inimitable music scene, to raise awareness and support on such an important issue.” – Sue Shanks – Chair of Brighton and Hove Green Party
Join us on Saturday 31st March at The LP Cafe to say a collective fuck you to ‘austerity Britain’ all while getting your freak on to Watford’s best…
7.30 – 9.30pm
Entry: Minimum 2 cans of food donations
Taking influence from Pink Floyd, Animal Collective, Mogwai and Led Zeppelin, they aim to to reach sonic bliss through pounding drums and explosive guitars. The band formed in 2016 through a shared love of experimentation and deafening volumes, and so they carved out their signature sound in disused buildings, playing mantra-like jams that build in intensity until reaching a brutal crescendo.
The four-piece, comprised of Kirk (guitar, vocals) Gavin (guitar, drums, vocals) Joe (drums, bass) and Alex (guitar, bass), have been gaining a reputation for the intensity and instrument-switching in their live performances, and have been playing their unpredictable sets in squat parties in London and psychedelic showcases in Bristol and Liverpool.
